The Estate "Consalvo"
is presently an "Agritouristic and Hunting Estate", with abundant wild boar
and various species of game birds. Permission has been granted for the development of a
championship golf course and residential estate (see "Potential for
Development" below). The estate also has the perfect climate for vineyards.
The estate "Consalvo" takes its
name from its ancient owner, a Spanish general Consalvo da Cordova, who fought
and won battles for the King of Spain Ferdinando II at the end of the fifteenth
century (1494-1504). The estate now belongs to the Bertucci family through the
"Tenuta Consalvo" Society.
The total area is
284 hectares (700 acres).
Location
The
Estate Consalvo is in the Monteverdi municipality, south of Pisa (Tuscany), on
the Metal Hills in the northern part of Maremma. It lies at the confluence and
between the two
rivers: Cornia and Massera.
Famous
seaside resorts like Punta Ala, Follonica, San Vincenzo, Donoratico and Baratti
gulf are about 20 Km away.
It
takes approximately 4 hours to reach Consalvo by motorway from Milan, 2 hours
from Florence and 3 hours from Rome.
It
is possible for light aircraft to land directly on the 1000 metre grassy airstrip
of the estate.
The
nearest railway station is 18 km away at Venturina (LI)
